Edwinstowe Arts, Heritage and Festival Organisation is a “not-for-profit” charitable organisation operated entirely by volunteers whose aims and objectives are to advance the education of the inhabitants of, and visitors to, Edwinstowe, (Robin Hood’s Village), and its surrounding area, of its historical significance and culture by organising activities, events, workshops and festivals involving performing, creative visual and musical arts.
The Organisation also hopes, through its activities to assist in the regeneration of this Coalfields Regeneration Area by encouraging tourism to the area.
It relies entirely upon grant aid, sponsorship, “in kind” support and a small income from tickets sales to fund its activities and running costs.
Several highly successful events have already taken place, including a Millennium Lantern Parade, the Sherwood Forest Millennium Pageant, the Millennium Pageant Medieval Market, a Millennium Concert of Music, a 1940‘s Weekend, a Festival of Music for the Sovereign’s Golden Jubilee, and several Art and Craft Exhibitions, all of which have attracted very large audiences from far and wide.
